Peter's Church

In early January, we visited a church that was started only a couple of years ago by Peter, one of our night guards.  It was great to visit a village, not far from the outskirts of Mwanza, where this new church had been planted and see the progress made in a relatively short space of time.  

There are many wonderful Christians in Mwanza who like Peter are taking the Good News about Jesus to people who need the transforming power of God in their lives.  It was a great day with beautiful singing, a chance to make new friends, and practice a little Swahili!!

DDO Day

Today, a group of 9 district dental officers and the Mwanza regional dental officer came for a training and support day that we were hosting in Mwanza.  Every six months we run a DDO (district dental officer) day for the district we work with to run the dental volunteer programme. We provide a lecture programme to train and support the DDO's along with an opportunity to participate in the development of the dental training programme.

It's a key partnership.  Without these DDO's we couldn't run the training, and they are the future for the expansion of the programme.

Creatures great and small, furry and slithery, leggy and legless, colourful and amazing.

Apart from meeting lots of interesting people, we've also encountered plenty of interesting little creatures in our house, garden and while out visiting friends.  Here are a few of them - more to follow in a future post.
